S.O.S Screw on Screen: Digitally Re-mastered Edition
We are very proud to announce yet another jewel in our Quality X back catalog. As I have mentioned many times, we are taking a lot of care and measure to re-store these rare grindhouse gems, so we take our time and I can assure you, that we will get to them all.
S.O.S. or Screw On Screen is our latest project. This one is quoted as “the dirtiest, funniest most aggressive piece of unabashed pornography since Buckley and Goldstein reached Puberty.” This film is a particular favorite because of the past relationship between Distribpix and Al Goldstein. We completed the transfer last week and are very happy with the results, it really is quite an interesting film, and we are almost certain that we have gone back to the original version, which is 16 x 9 and has the “Doggie in the Window” soundtrack. Another huge discovery for us was a second version of this incredible picture, which we also transfered from original 35mm elements, except this one is the “Old Macdonald” version, and is of lesser quality than the first, but it is a very important discovery and worthy of being an extra to the DVD.

When I saw SOS in a theatre in the late 70’s there was a scene with a dildo bicycle and some circus couple. Does your version include those scenes. I have a version without those scenes. What is the running time or yours and what is the price?
OUR RUNNING TIME IS APPROX, 80 MINUTES OR 1 HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES.
WE HAVE 2 RE-MASTERED VERSIONS, BOTH FROM 35 MM NEGATIVE. I HAVE SCREENED THE FIRST VERSION WITH “DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW” Track , AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND THE SCENE YOU ARE REFERRING TO WITH A BICYCLE DILDO/CIRCUS COUPLE. I WILL CHECK THE OTHER VERSION. I FIND IT ODD, THAT THIS SCENE IS NOT IN OUR VERSION, AS I THINK THAT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL.
We have not yet released this film onto DVD and it is not yet available.

I think the movie you saw was the Al Goldstein feature It Happened in Hollywood (1973). He partly directed and did have a role in it.
Am I correct in assuming you have not yet released the Remastered Edition of S.O.S.: Screw on Screen as of July, 2010.? Have you reached a projected release date on this DVD?

No Chip, sorry about that. Like many of our projects it is on the horizon. We have been finding many unauthorized copies of very poor quality dvd’s of this film, so that is unfortunate. Soon the authorized version will be out, if you like quality than it will be worth the wait. I will keep you posted.
